Raise your hand if you remember Chelsea and Will’s RAD maternity session from last summer! You know the one… Pool floaties, Hawaiian shirts, tattoos, and bikinis?! (If you need a refresher course, check it out here!!) Now fast forward almost exactly one year. Their kiddo Winston is nine months old, and already way cooler than I am. Chelsea wanted to pay homage to the shoot we put together last year with an updated family session in their gorgeous Seattle home, and I love each of these frames more than the last.
After documenting Finn’s arrival earlier this year, I’ve felt a major pull to the genre of birth stories. There’s something remarkable about watching this part of our journey and creating a visual timeline of a new human beings arrival. When Amaris asked if I would be there for her labor and delivery, I don’t think anyone had an idea it would be such whirlwind! In just under four hours Autumn was born, and Amaris stayed calm and focused throughout the speedy and intense labor under the guidance of Rainy City Midwifery. Her strength and peace were on full display, and she is a WARRIOR.
I am now offering birth story sessions in the greater Seattle area. If you or someone you know is expecting, please be in touch. I would love to meet you and talk about how this is one of the most lasting impressions you’ll have to carry with you after the long and incredibly monumental process of labor and delivery is over.
One of my favorite parts of being wedding photographer is the opportunity to connect with the coolest people beyond the end of their big day. Kylee and Kaleb got married almost two years ago, and now they’re expecting their first baby!! Watching these incredible and beautiful nuclear families come together is the sweetest process, and I’m beyond fortunate to have clients who trust me with their stories. I cannot wait to meet the tiny human next month when she’s made her way earthside!
Alexis and Luke are two of the loveliest people on this planet – and they have a sweet baby girl on the way. When I was in New York last month I knew we had to catch up (I did an at-home engagement session for them two years ago!) and celebrate this new adventure they’re on. Their light and goofy spirits are infectious! We stopped by the New Allen mural in Greenwich Village and wandered our way through the streets to The Highline for a scoop of strawberry ice cream, and it made for the perfect evening.
Identical twins. Is there anything cuter? Nope. The answer is nope. Unless it’s identical twins in #resist onesies. Nothing gets cuter than that!! I’ve been lucky enough to get to know these sweet faces pretty well over the last couple of months. When their mama asked if we could have a studio session to celebrate their first half year earthside, how could I say no?!
If I wasn’t in awe of what women are capable of before Finn was born last week, I am now. I don’t quite know how to put into words what the experience of being beside my best friend while she labored for 27 hours (!!!) to bring her first baby into this world was like. It was all at once amazing, horrifying, inspiring, delightful, miraculous, overwhelming, heartbreaking, beautiful, and empowering. Watching her in such a warrior-esque state was life changing. The moment this family became three the whole world changed.
I am thrilled to announce that I am now offering birth story sessions in the greater Seattle area. If you or someone you know is expecting, please be in touch. I would love to meet you and talk about how this is one of the most lasting impressions you’ll have to carry with you after the long and incredibly monumental process of labor and delivery is over.
There’s something so very sweet about mamas and their babes. There is something even sweeter about mamas and their babes when they step out from behind their own cameras and in front of someone else’s. My girl Dannie of Abeille Photography is one of the kindest and most giving souls I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, and she trusted me with these moments between her youngest and herself last month. It was the sweetest half hour, and would have been so even without the donuts!
In-home sessions are an absolute favorite of mine. I love meeting people exactly where they’re at, and celebrating their comfort zone will never get old. Engagements, families, newborns… You name it and it’s even better at home. Plus, the amount of sweet this family contains can’t be measured. I mean – those smiling little faces! All the heart eyes.
If you want your own session in time to get holiday cards out to your loved ones, I have a few spots left for these home based minis. Drop and line and we’ll chat!
He’s here! He’s here! I’ve known that Josh and Nicole and big brother Max were expecting for ages now, and when we did their maternity portraits about a month ago they asked me to keep them quiet for the time being. Totally not a problem, because mom and dad are quite the clever pair, so I knew there would be a surprise of sorts involved when the time was right.
Little did I know that they had the BEST Facebook reveal up their sleeve, torturing their friends with a weekly photo (including moments from our session!) one by one today culminating in the delivery of sweet Huxley this afternoon. I love this wee family so very much, and could not be happier for them as they embark on this new adventure. I’ll be sharing photos of the newest Beerman soon, so stay tuned.
